Today I will be discussing the word that was
voted as the word of the year in 2004 by Oxford American Dictionary – Podcast.
Podcast, according to the Journal of Information Technology
and Politics is explained as:
“digital audio or video file that is episodic,
downloadable and program-driven, mainly with a host and/or theme; and convenient,
usually via automated feed with computer software.”
Podcasting can be a great way to deliver ideas and messages,
especially because the tone and the emotions can come out as intended by the
marketer, which is something that writing simply cannot always do accurately. Due
to the specific nature of delivery of podcasting, listeners will only subscribe
to the content they are interested in and that means that there will be loyal
audience which will not be distracted by other content whilst listening to what
the podcaster is talking about, which is not the case with other social media
platforms or methods. Which for marketing purposes can be a
brilliant option,
as it drives potential customers directly to your brand.
Please listen to the following podcast that highlights my ideas why podcasting for marketing purposes is a good decision.
